Every year the St. Patrick’s day parade committee seeks to find five young women to represent their Irish heritage, the city of Chicago and the plumbers Union local 130. Ivy League’s very own Miss Kathleen Murphy had the honor of being chosen as one of five women to hold the responsibility. “This experience of being on the 2020 St. Patrick’s Day Queens Court will impact my life forever. I get to dive deeper into my family’s history as well as make my own,” says Murphy.
She has been with Ivy League Kids since 2016 and is currently a site director in the Troy 30C District at Hofer Elementary School. Her students adore her positive energy and engaging personality.
Outside of work, she competes as an avid rugby player. Encouraged by her sister Brigid to play the sport, she began playing rugby in the fall of 2016 for the County Will Morrigans. Her skills have brought her to play for an all-star team in the Women’s Premier League (WPL) for Northshore to represent the Midwest.
